Yesterday, Y8 students from Trinity Carlisle School in Cumbria took to the streets in their community as part of the Give a Day to the City initiative.  Students were involved in packing Bags of Encouragement with either food goodies or toiletries that they had collected and attached a personal note with a message of support.  These were then delivered to members of the Community who had been flooded 18 months ago -many of whom have only just returned to their homes, with some residents still moving in. Sadly, many have not yet returned home.  Residents were overwhelmed by the generosity of students and the school has received many messages of thanks.

Andrea Shore Subject Leader of Religious studies, Philosophy and Ethics said, "It's an opportunity for the pupils to go out into the community and show people that they recognise what happened and are still thinking of them."

Elizabeth Howat, Strategic Lead for Secondary Awards, said,
