It has been a huge honour to work with Archbishop Sentamu and to be spurred on by him in our vision to empower a generation of young people to transform society. We are so grateful to him for his example, for always championing young people, and for setting up the Youth Trust so that we might serve and support children and young people across this country. As a result of Archbishop Sentamu’s vision, we have been able to reach out to over 100,000 children and young people through the Young Leaders Award; helping them to grow in their leadership and character and empowering them to serve and make a difference in the communities where they live. What started as an idea and a small trial in the North of England has now spread across the country, and we are so grateful to the Archbishop for his prayers and support, and for always believing in the incredible potential of young people. Thank you, Archbishop, you will be greatly missed and we wish you all the best for the future.
Looking ahead, the work of the Youth Trust continues to go from strength to strength, with exciting plans for the future. We look forward to working with +Stephen Cottrell (Archbishop Designate) when he becomes the new Archbishop of York later this year, pressing on in in our vision of empowering a generation of young people to transform society.
It has been a huge honour to work with Archbishop Sentamu and Margaret and to be encouraged and spurred on by them in this vision. What started as a small trial in the North of England,is now reaching out to young people in schools across the entire country and I am most grateful for Archbishop Sentamu’s example, inspiring us with what is possible when we trust in the Lord with all our heart.
