After a long, tiring journey, we’ve finally arrived at Taize. Despite the stretched out driving and numerous toilet stops, winding up through the French villages and finally seeing the grand bells of the Eglise church was a welcome sight. After receiving a quick briefing from a few ‘permanents’ at the site, we were able to unload the coaches and trek over to our campsite, and after a few minutes of struggling, put up our tents.
For me, Christianity is really important, and to be able to explore that with thousands of new people in an entirely different country, it’s a frightening but exciting aspect of this trip. By the end of this week I hope to have learnt more about myself and my place in the world, and a whole lot more about God and my place in His world. This week will surely be a learning and growing curve for me, and I look forward to it.
