We’re looking forward to joining Step up to Serve’s 1st Anniversary celebrations today and meeting a number of other organisation who are enabling ‘youth social action’ across the UK. In November 2013, HRH The Prince of Wales and the UK’s three party leaders launched Step Up To Serve and the #iwill campaign. The campaign’s collective goal is to double the number of 10-20 year olds taking part in meaningful social action (such as volunteering, fundraising or campaigning) by 2020. Over 80 organisations from across sectors are already working towards this goal and we’re delighted to be involved in this through the dynamic work of our Young leaders awards.
The Step up to Serve campaign is very much in line with the aims and objectives of the Archbishop of York Youth Trust Young Leaders Awards. To date we have enrolled over 22,000 young people to our Award involving each of them undertaking at least one piece of social action.
