The Archbishop of York Youth Trust has awarded a £5000 grant this month to Fusion “Love Your Uni Roadtrip” Camper Van, a project which encourages young people to live out their faith in positive ways.
Later this month, Miriam Swaffield Fusion’s Student Mission Developer, is to embark on a two year road trip with the Camper Van. She plans to visit as many university locations as possible in the United Kingdom and the aim is to encourage local churches and students to “love your uni as Jesus loves us”.
To mark the launch of the project, the van’s first road trip visit was to Bishopthorpe Palace. Miriam Swaffield said
“I want to encourage young people to continue to grow in their faith and live out Christian values whilst at University. The VW camper van is a tangible symbol of the student mission movement we can all be part of”.
Dan Finn, Director of the Youth Trust said
“It’s brilliant to be supporting this fantastic project that will have a positive impact on so many young peoples’ lives over the course of the next two years. As a Trust we are passionate about enabling young people to serve their communities and be the change they want to see – The Fusion Road Trip will do exactly this and we look forward to hearing stories of how young people have served their universities and shared the love of God in the process”.
