In celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 70 years on the throne the Archbishop of York Youth Trust are challenging pupils in primary and secondary schools to share their vision and hopes for the next 70 years.
The Queen has ruled for longer than any other British Monarch in history and has always seen public and voluntary service as one of the most important parts of her work, supporting numerous charities and honouring the work and achievements of many people who have contributed to the life of the nation.
Our ‘Platinum Jubilee Challenge’ asks pupils to consider what they would like to see change for the better over the next 70 years.
• How might people in need be more supported?
• How might the environment be better cared for?
• What issues or problems could be solved?
The resource also encourages children and young people to think about how they can start to take action towards these changes now and ‘be the change they want to see’ in their communities.
The resource is made with KS2 and KS3 pupils in mind, but can be adjusted to use for KS1 and KS4 pupils.
