Bear Grylls has become known around the world as one of the most recognised faces of survival and outdoor adventure. Trained from a young age in martial arts, Bear went on to spend three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, serving with 21 SAS. It was here that he perfected many of the skills that his fans all over the world enjoy watching him pit against mother nature.
The event is in aid of the Archbishop of York Youth Trust. The Youth Trust is passionate about developing opportunities for young people to grow in leadership, faith and character. Through the Young Leaders Award, the Youth Trust has empowered over 95,000 young people from over 850 schools to learn and practice key leadership skills and character virtues and to transform their communities through social action.
Dan Finn, CEO of the Youth Trust said:
“We are so pleased to be welcoming Bear to York. He is a true hero to many of the young people that we work with and we even feature him as an example of an inspirational leader in our Young Leaders Award! I’m looking forward to an evening of adventure and fun!”
